Assistant Manager: This role is intrinsic for the seamless and successful running of the restaurant. You are a true Island Poké Ambassador, ensuring that our unique brand of Aloha service is provided at all times. You embody the values of the organisation and excel in ‘rallying the troops’. Working closely with the General Manager, you make sure that all employees understand what is expected, from their presentation being ‘on-point’, to their performance. Your role involves guiding the team and making sure they are happy, bubbly and have been provided with the full knowledge to embrace their Front-of-House role to the best of their ability. You are responsible for the restaurant cleanliness and guaranteeing the restaurant is running efficiently, with all preparation completed on time for service while maintaining quality control on all food served. You will also support the GM in the financial performance of the restaurant and deputise in their absence.

Day to day responsibilities include supporting the GM in the following duties:

  • Opening and closing of the store
  • Stock ordering
  • Cash handling / counting and closing down tills
  • Ensure the shop and team is organised and ready for the lunch service
  • Make sure the shop and team are presentable and ‘on brand’
  • Be a role model for all Front of House staff

Financial and operational Duties:

  • Assist the GM with the general financial performance of the business with a view to margin, stock, wastage
  • Assist the GM with writing flash reports and take over this responsibility in their absence
  • Assist the GM with weekly and monthly stock counts

General Duties:

  • Training and guiding all new members of staff – ongoing training for all FOH staff – ensuring a consistent level of service, maintaining quality control over all food served
  • Deputising and assuming all responsibilities in the GM’s absence
  • Encouraging the Aloha spirit to be shared with customers and all members of the team
  • Relaying information to the GM to ensure the company is progressively and positively growing (gathering information from the team and relaying themes or concerns)
